never letting down a work bestie

Something I’ve realized lately: if you’re actually friends with your coworkers, you work harder.

Case in point: last week I was fully pushing off a task. But then I thought…

“If I push this off to the last minute, then my bestie is going to have to pick up MY slack way too close to the actual deadline.”

Like, I’m not just handing this off to Larry from accounting. I’m giving it to my HOMIE. And you cannot betray the homie.

When you like the people you work with, suddenly you’re clocking in like: “Alright let’s crush this”

You work harder, you share more ideas, you actually communicate instead of letting a project rot in the Slack list void.

how we should be dressing the besties

Also, having work besties cuts down on miscommunication IMO. I am definitely more likely to ask for help or advice on a project if I’m comfortable with the people I work with.

BUT this is why remote work saves me.

Because if my desk was next to my work besties I fear I would yap the day away.

Besties = efficient teams???

THINGS PEOPLE NEED TO DO MORE

A very serious list:

  • eat cream cheese

  • become a regular at a coffee shop or a restaurant

  • make out

  • have one accessory you wear all the time…a trademark if you will

  • write (like with a pen and paper)

  • use eye cream!! (my 2 recs here and here)

  • hang fun things on their refrigerator

  • realize that we are all a little Carrie Bradsaw

  • reply to this newsletter and say hi !!
