Glow ups & The Great Lock In
Happy Q4 baddies! We’re deep in the -BER months.
And you know what that means…we’re locking in for the rest of the year, so we will simply by unrecognizable (in the best way) by 2026.
As always, a glow up isn’t just about appearances…it’s about taking control of your life and moving toward your best self every single day. That means taking extremely good care of yourself mentally, physically, spiritually…
Because we all know the truth: your insides = your outsides
To glowing up, locking in, and being hot🥂 Just a few my rules:
Stick to the plan: you’ve probably got new goals, better habits, and new ambitions you’re trying to bring to life . DO THEM. Even if your tired, not in the mood, or don’t feel like it. Don’t negotiate with yourself (that is not hot)
Shock factor: Switch up the routine. Take a new route to work, order something different at your favorite coffee shop, start taking cold showers, switch up your breakfast food. Something new to wake up your system. #NeverLetEmKnowYourNextMove
Moisturize: The number of TikToks I’ve seen lately of people admitting they don’t moisturize… I’m clutching my pearls. Hydrate your skin, especially as it gets colder. Don’t get caught with crusty elbows this fall. Feel free to forward this email to someone with crusty elbows.
HGW: I will say this until the day I die…you need to go on more hot girl walks. It’s so good for the body & mind, especially if you can go in the morning. Personally, my favorite walk of the week is my Saturday 6 miles. HMU if you wanna join me this weekend
Think about what you consume: Not just food, but movies, music, media, TikToks, all of it. Pay attention to how it’s affecting you subconsciously. I love Sabrina Carpenter’s new album, but I had to stop listening to it because it made me think about boys too much. Just being real.
Trust the first ick: If you’re dating & you get icked out for whatever reason….trust the first ick and get outta there. Can’t have someone else’s heinous vibes distracting you from your life and your dreams.
Get something fun on the calendar!!!: Make plans (and go). Personally I will be hosting pasta and wine night with my friends in a few weeks. The theme: Wine Not. You’re all invited.
Write it down: With an actual paper and pen. Goals, lists, your dream life, the thoughts you’re having first thing in the morning, things you’re grateful for, all that good stuff. When you write it down, it’s 90% more likely to happen (source: science)
Get dressed: Your (remote) work clothes should be different from your chill clothes should be different from your going out clothes. Dress for the vibe.
Hydrate: Drink lots of water AND post a thirst trap
If you think you don’t have time to glow up this season… you’re wrong. The best investment you’ll ever make is yourself. The best investment you can make is yourself!!

my reaction to seeing this newsletter design for the first time

Did you know our brains are wired to keep us comfortable?
Our brains evolved to keep us safe from legit threats, like lions or bears or whatever was lurking in the bushes all those years ag.
So that’s why when we want to do things that are new, hard, or different, we find ourselves thinking “oh let’s start tomorrow,” or “I’ll just check Instagram first”
Our brains love routine and hate discomfort.
But we can actively sharpen our focus to do the things we are avoiding. It’s called the Lotus Method, which helps us get better at locking innnnn.

Aura Farming = Intentionally doing things to make you seem cooler. Basically like curating your image to project an impressive image to others.
Examples of aura farming:
Posting 31493574987 times on your Instagram story during your Euro summer (no shame in the game, baddie)
Boys taking off their shirt to play some sport in front of the ladies
When there’s a trend taking off on social media and you decide to post to Linkedin about how you think the trend is dumb and no one should post about it
